PDC Electrical Contractors earns 2012 ABC Projects of Distinction Award

Tod Tuls of Tuls Dairies, located in Nebraska, took on an 18-month process of town meetings, talking to neighbors, and applying for permits before breaking ground on their 5,200-cow dairy located in Rock County on 160 acres.  PDC provided a complete electrical system design, installation of electrical power, lighting, waste management control, and special systems.  Power distribution included a 12,470 volt primary metered service to the site, two 1000 KVA, and one 1500 KVA on-site transformers.  On-Site services consisted of one 1600 amp service for the parlor area, one 1200 amp service for the cow barns, four generators for standby power, and one 1200 amp service for cow barns and pumping stations.  Forty-one panels distribute power throughout the builings, seven motor control centers control 560 horsepower of motors for the waste management system.  1,378 lighting fixtures illuminate the buildings and site.
